Despite difficult economic conditions, Cheshire West and Chester Council had its Budget Council on 23 February when the Council Tax for 2012/13 was frozen for second year and an extra 0.25% rebate was given.
On February 16 we were pleased to be able to host the Community Forum for Weaver & Cuddington Ward at Cuddinton & Sandiway Village Hall, where residents came from across the ward and its parishes of Acton Bridge, Cuddington, Dutton and Weaverham.
Cheshire West and Chester has recently been chosen as one of 4 pilot areas across the country for a Community Budgets scheme which from 2013 may allow all services provided by the public, community and voluntary sectors to be funded from one “local pot”. Through our Member Grant system we have been able to help local community projects and since the Autumn Update we have been able to use this to help fund a number projects accross the ward. We are keen to help even more local community projects, so if you have one, please let us know. Full details of the projects we have supported across Weaver and Cuddington Ward can be found at www.weaverandcuddington.yourcllr.com/community-grants/
