Conservative run Cheshire West and Chester Council has extended the trial of the popular Artisan Market in Northwich until December 31 and it could become a permanent event once a month.
The seventy-plus stalls can be found in Witton Street on the second Saturday of every month and the Artisan Market has for sale fine local food and drink, art and craft stalls, as well as music and entertainment activities.
Councillor Herbert Manley, Executive Member for Growth and Innovation said: “The feedback we have received so far is very positive, and the Artisan Market is attracting local shoppers and also people from further afield.
“The decision has been taken to extend the Artisan Market until the end of the year, and it will be very interesting to find out how busy stall holders will be over the Christmas and run up to New Year period, traditionally a very hectic time.
“We are currently going through a process to secure a regular monthly market for Northwich town centre.”
Weaver & Cuddington Councillor Charles Fifield visited the Artisan market on Saturday 14 September to see for himself “I was delighted to see such an excellent range of stalls, goods and food available, together with so many shoppers.”
