We support the concerns of local residents in their opposition to the changes to the walking route assessment for Weaverham High School pupils from Cuddington & Sandiway and Acton Bridge.
We have asked the Council School Transport department to reconsider these changes, also highlighting 2 specific areas of concern in addition to the main roads themselves, the West Road / Forest Road junction for Cuddington & Sandiway children and the West Road and Station Road junction for Acton Bridge children.
If after this, the Council still will not change it’s mind then we have requested it seriously considers delaying the implementation until September 2016, to minimize the disruption on for the current academic year, especially those in their final year for exams and to also allow time to consider how to reduce the effect of more vehicle movements on the village of Weaverham around the high school itself.
