On Wednesday 1 November there was a drop in Council Consultation event at Weaverham Community Centre regarding the draft Transport Strategy for Northwich. The consultation shows various proposals for the greater Northwich area including a potential southern by-pass for Weaverham (UA09 / UA10), a link from there to the A556 (UA10), western exit from A556 between Hartford and Sandiway (UA02b) and a second bridge crossing at Winnington (UA01b / UA08).
The consultation closes on 31 December and residents can find out more at: www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/nts
Speeding drivers continue to be an issue around the village. Police monitoring and enforcement took place at various locations around Weaverham in September, with no less than 70 motorists being booked. This remains one of the most important and regular issues raised by residents with us and we are doing our best to ensure that the Police are made aware of the concern being expressed. We will continue to press for regular patrols in an effort to improve the situation.
The Council regularly runs consultations, which we recommend residents look at and current ones include the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (consultation closes 22 December), the above mentioned draft Transport Strategy for Northwich (closes 31 December) and a draft Low Emissions Strategy (closes 12 January 2018).
