At the time of writing the roll out of the vaccination program reached over 22 million people the UK but it is still down to all of working together to reduce the risk of infection, especially to those older and more vulnerable residents. We urge everyone to continue following the official advice, wash your hands, wear a face mask and keep social distancing.
The Council has 2 important consultations which will be of interest, firstly on Social Welfare & Advice (closes 17 March) and secondly on Waste & Recycling (closes 18 March). Details of the Council’s live Consultations can be found at: https://inside.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/get_involved/consultations
The Storm Christoph floods at the and of January affected residents of Weaverham and Acton Bridge on Sandy Lane, Weaverham Road and Acton Lane. We have been trying to help the residents as much as we can, Paul and our independent colleague were on site at the beginning helping with residents, ensuring they could be moved to temporary accommodation. We have continued to work together on this matter and have raised our concerns with Cheshire West & Chester Council and the delayed release of the report into the 2019 floods.
At Budget Council on Thursday 25 February Charles and Paul voted against the 4.99% Council Tax rise.
Since Labour took control of CWC the Council Tax has risen from £1,275 to £1,659 for a Band D property. That is a rise of 30% in 6 years.
Please use the Cheshire West and Chester “Report IT” facility for matters such as overflowing litter bins, potholes, fly-tipping and defective lighting, which can either be downloaded as an “App” or accessed via the council’s website www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk
By using the “Report It” service you will get a reference number, which if the matter is not dealt with satisfactorily, you can then contact us, to raise the matter further.
Please take care, think of others at risk and stay safe.
