We are pleased to announce that Lynn Stocks has been confirmed alongside Cllr Charles Fifield, as 2 of our candidates for Weaver & Cuddington Ward. Cllr Paul Williams has represented the ward since 2015 and has decided not to stand again. Weaver & Cuddington ward covers the communities of Acton Bridge, Crowton, Cuddington, Delamere Park, Norley, Sandiway and Weaverham.
Lynn Stocks is married to Mark and has three grown up children. She has lived in Cheshire most of her adult life. Over recent years, she has spent a lot of time serving the community as an NHS volunteer responder and also as a vaccination steward in Hartford. She also donates blood regularly at Weaverham Community Centre.
Cllr Paul Williams said “ As we move inexorably towards the forthcoming local authority elections, it is with some sadness that I shall no longer be putting my name forward as a candidate, having been first elected back in 2015. Working with Charles Fifield over that period has been a privilege; I have come to rely hugely upon his experience, social conscience and political knowledge and will miss his companionship hugely. However, I know that he will continue to be generous of spirit in making all this available to Lynn Stocks and I wish her every success in the 2023 May elections.”
Cllr Charles Fifield, who has represented the ward since 2011, said “I am sure the residents of Weaver & Cuddington would like to thank my fellow Cllr Paul Williams for all his hard work for the ward since 2015 as he will be stepping down from representing the ward in May. Paul has been extremely dedicated in the service he has given to residents and the local community. I can confirm that I will be standing again this year, along with our new candidate Lynn Stocks, who has already been working hard in the ward, knocking on doors and helping us keep in touch with local issues.”
Lynn Stocks said, ““Having known Cllr Paul Williams for a number of years, I know how incredibly hard he has worked looking after residents across the ward, particularly during the flooding in 2021. I would like to thank Paul and wish him well for the future.
Our part of Cheshire is a beautiful place to live and work, there is a lot to be done to improve its overall appearance. Unfortunately over recent years a great deal of potholes have appeared and councils have struggled to keep on top of them. There is also a huge amount of litter too which has got worse over time. I would like to see more being done to improve our highways and environment in general”.
